The proposed CCRC will use just 5 acres of a 33 acre site at the north end of Moor Lane Cranham, adjacent to Moor Lane and Fairholme Gardens.

The surrounding 28 acres will be visually and ecologically enhanced with the creation of a new lake, pond, and substantial wooded areas served by numerous footpaths, on a site which is currently of limited aesthetic or practical value. Our management strategy will seek to ensure that the wider site is managed in a way which maximises both opportunities for enjoyment of this area and the ecological value of the site.

This is consistent with Green Belt objectives to increase recreational access to such areas.

The CCRC will comprise of accommodation offering various levels of care for the elderly community, with close access to a Village Centre. Facilities within the centre will include, a reception, restaurant, café, library, craft room, shop, I.T. room, a wellness centre with swimming pool, hairdressers and several lounges.

There is a critical need to provide for older people, both now and in the future. We believe that this need, provides the exceptional reason for allowing a CCRC at this location.
